DALTONS 1 and DALTONS 2 Lenses represent the most advanced technology from DAI OPTICAL R&D Centre for managing dyschromatopsia. For decades, DAI Optical has been committed to this field, and excellent results have been achieved with the SunBlocker 600 filter, which is capable of restoring red-green contrast in individuals with dichromatic vision.

Recent technological developments have allowed for a finer modulation of the transmission curves of polymers, allowing the creation of more efficient lenses in improving red-green chromatic contrast.

The DALTONS-1 and DALTONS-2 lenses attempt to compensate for the lack of photoreceptor sensitivity caused by genetic factors by precisely altering the spectrum of visible light that reaches the retina. The recovery of red-green contrast varies based on the severity of the chromatic alteration, and in many cases, it closely approaches normal trichromatic vision.

Although both lenses operate on the same wavelengths, DALTONS 1 and DALTONS 2 present differences. DALTONS-1 is more suited for outdoor use and falls into transmission category 3. Furthermore, it features a more aggressive categorization of the spectrum, making it more suitable for cases of severe dyschromatopsia.

DALTONS 2, on the contrary, is suitable for prolonged use, both indoors and outdoors, featuring a softer tint.

For this reason, it is more suitable for cases of mild dyschromatopsia.
