THE POLYMER OF THE XXI DECADE – A VISION WITH NO COMPROMISES
From the time corrective lenses were born until today, every professional of the optic sector and their patients were forced to make compromises choosing the material between glass lenses, organic and polycarbonate ones.
Glass lenses provide excellent performance in terms of view, but they are heavy and have a low resistance to impact, so poor tolerance for those who have an active and dynamic lifestyle.
Lenses made of organic material are strongly used thanks to the good optical quality and the low weight.
The polycarbonate is on the contrary used for the related combination of resistance to impact and lightness but with optical performances slightly below.
These decisions require strong compromises from individuals who use eyeglasses in demanding environments such as an office, class, sport, high-risk works, etc.
Used for the first time to support the American army, they were built for the visors of the helmets. The material can offer an extremely superior resistance to impacts than polycarbonate, without sacrificing the optical quality. D.A.I. Optical Industries has adapted this material for the build of the ophthalmic lenses with Pentalite.
PENTALITE links lightness, transparency, resistance and thinness. It represents, therefore, the ideal solution for every style of life: bookish, passionate about sport, fashion, usable also by babies and adaptable to every person who doesn’t want to compromise.
The high resistance to impact is ensured by the composition of molecules which are independent of each other. In the event of an impact, a deformation and a reformation of the material is enabled.
VISION IS THE MOST PRECIOUS SENSE, FOR THIS REASON, IT’S BETTER TO PROTECT IT
TRANSPARENCY (ABBE 46)
Visual aesthetic and quality are expressed with no compromises.
PENTALITE lens transparency is always better than the standard. The lens, in fact, ensures clarity and minimise chromatic aberrations view obtaining immediately tangible benefits.
HARDNESS (FDA- ANSI)
PENTALITE lenses are extremely strong and safe thanks to the particular molecular composition that makes it hard for the impact.
LIGHTNESS (SPECIFIC WEIGHT 1,1 g / cm³)
PENTALITE lenses are equipped with an ultra-light material such as to allow them to almost float in water.
The lightness associated with the hardness creates a lens with high performance, with results that express themselves even in the thinness.
The specific weight makes possible the actualisation of a lens with multiple solutions by favouring an unlimited choice of frames.
RESISTANCE (GREAT RESISTANCE TO THE MAIN SOLVENTS AND CHEMICAL PRODUCTS)
PENTALITE lenses “are unimpeachable” because they guarantee a great resistance to solvents and chemical products.
THINNESS AND ASPHERICAL WARP ( MINIMUM THICKNESS 1 mm)
The great benefit of the aspherical warp gives a peripheral vision without aberrations (removing the enlargement of the eye which is an annoyance) and makes the lens thinner.
Also, thanks to the above-mentioned characteristic of hardness and the particular molecular composition, it is possible to optimise lenses with a central thickness of 1mm (for negative lenses) and for this with final results compared to those with indexes of high refraction. Then, a great aesthetic ideal for every frame is ensured especially for couture ones (glasant).
