DAI OPTICAL SOFT CARE is the new company division specialized in the design, study and production of all optical aids for fragile and low vision.

The focus of the project is the new AIO All In One patent, a special technology that allows to achieve maximum levels of aesthetics in the production of lenses, thanks to the sharp reduction in thickness, which have always characterized the lenses for low vision, ensuring the patient a greater freedom in choosing the wearable frame.

The AIO All ln One patent is the evolution of the classic low vision systems. It is the result of the union of the WFRT calculation and design system (“Wave Front Ray Tracing Technology” – the innovative optimization algorithm that simulates the visual system and the lens in the indicated condition and optimizes the surface in each point guaranteeing the maximum visual quality for each look direction) and EXTREME, in particular, the NOVAE construction technique (which allows to obtain lenses ultra-thin by using cubic splines).

ReNee filters (indoor) are able to block wavelength in the spectrum of blue and green, and they are used for the photophobia, blepharospasm and migraine treatment. They can reduce all the symptoms related to the reduction of the contrast caused not only by macular degeneration but also by using a personal computer or fluorescent lamps at work.

Soft Living

A lot of children and adults suffer from visual difficulties while reading. This can influence the fluency in reading, focusing and comprehension, which causes visual tiredness. Sight stress may occur in different ways; a migraine, distorted vision of texts, tiredness, etc, and is present in many conditions such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, photosensitive migraine, photosensitive epilepsy, autism, ADHD, head injuries, multiple sclerosis.

Soft Living filters have been developed to reduce these symptoms. The printed pages can look to a visible stressing model. It is believed that this discomfort related to a complex visual pattern is the cause of an hyperexcitability of the neurons in the visual cortex. This means that some cells, in the part of the brain that handles with the processing of the visual information, work too fast and don’t respond in the right way.

We already know that some cells of the visual cortex are colour sensitive, so, when putting a specific colour in front of the eye, the excitement pattern could change. In other words, the colour will contribute to slow down and calm the work of the neuronal cells reducing the visual stress. The colour necessary to reduce hyperexcitability is very precise and personalised for each person.

ROYAL ES & ROYAL MCB

ROYAL ES filter is indicated in photosensitive epilepsy and blue cone monochromatism. Photosensitive epilepsy has an annual impact of 1, 1 in 100.000 people even if it is has a strong prevalence when they reach puberty with an impact of 5,7 in 100.000 people in this age group. It is characterised by epileptic fits provoked by visual stimulations even if in some patients there are spontaneous epileptic fits.
This is most common among women than men and it seems to have a genetic basis. Considering that the 25% of patients lost their photosensitivity in the third decade of life, the other 75% will remain sensitive for life.

Among the causes of the epileptic seizure, there is watching Tv, gaming and VDT use.
Other visual stimulations are strobe lights, striped stimulation with different luminous intensity (for example the floors of an escalator or Venetian blinds). Also, red luminous stimulations may represent a trigger. The non-drug treatment reflected by blue sunglasses use is safe and effective in controlling the photosensitivity. Among 600 epileptic photosensitive patients examined the 94% have had the photoparoxysmal response (PPR) completely removed or significantly reduced using an intense blue lens. The ROYAL MCB filter is instead indicated exclusively in the blue cone monochromatism cases. The latter or uncomplete monochromatism related to the X chromosome is a rare disease characterised by the absence of the red and green cones functionality. The MCB is a condition very common among males and its incidence is between 1 in 50.000 and 1 in 100.000. With this disease, the vision of the colours in the photopic light conditions is mediated only by blue cones and is not possible to discriminate luminous stimulations of different wavelength and luminous intensity without a comparison between different types of photoreceptors. Furthermore, blue cones represent only the 2% of the total cones in the retina. With the MCB the chromatic discrimination is poor or absent and there is also a reduced visual acuity and a nystagmus.

Every New SunBlocker®, New SunBlocker® Special e New SunBlocker® Polara treatment are applicable to each type of lens and individually sellable as filters.
